The University of the Philippines Alumni Association (UPAA) honored AMA Group of Companies Founder and Chairman, Dr. Amable R. Aguiluz V, with a Presidential Award during the UPAA 2018 Alumni Homecoming and Awarding held at the UP Bahay ng Alumni last August 18, 2018.
Dr. Amable R. Aguiluz V is considered as one of the most notable alumni of the university and is recognized as the ‘Father of IT Education in the Philippines’. The award recognizes his exceptional achievement for establishing AMA Group, which is the company that owns and manages AMA Education System, a brand well-known for offering quality IT-based education since 1980.
The title of this year’s homecoming and awarding event is ‘MGA HALIGI NG LAHI: Pillars of the Nation’, which befits the AMA Group founder perfectly for his exemplary contribution in the society, especially in the field of education.
Today, AMA Group has grown to be one of the strongest business organizations in the country and is engaged in several lines of business such as education, real estate, restaurant, financial services, banking, manpower services and energy. AMA Group is also a proudly Filipino-owned multinational company, as it also has operations in China and some countries in the Middle East.
