John Alfred dela Cruz, a student of AMA College Olongapo campus, recently ranked 1st in the Cisco Networking Academy Netriders 2016 CCENT Competition Asia Pacific and Japan Region.
The competition was held in two tough rounds, the Qualifier and Elimination Exam (Round 1) and the International Finals (Round 2), wherein students participate as individuals. The competition rounds have specific schedules and students was supervised by Cisco Networking Academy Instructors or Staff member.
After the finals, John Alfred dela Cruz grabbed 1st place in the whole Asia Pacific and Japan region while his team mates, Ariel Adriano Labrador, Jr., ranked 6th, Rolan Galang placed 21st and Joshua Jed Chua got the 35th place.
According to these students, the overwhelming results made them feel more inspired and motivated to participate in other technology and networking competitions. John Alfred dela Cruz even admitted that it was skeptical to be included in the top 100 or in top 50 of the Philippine rankings. “I didn’t really expect myself to be in the top rank. Although the result wasn’t expected, I am still thankful for the rank I have acquired.” he added.
The team started reviewing from May 2016 until the end the 2nd round. They conscientiously studied, focused on protocols, commands, and worked hard to make it to the finals.
Dela Cruz and the rest of the team would like to inspire future Netriders to pursue their passion, dedicate themselves in everything that they do and the results will always be worth having and AMAzing.
Cisco Networking Academy NetRiders IT skill competition provides great opportunities for students and alumni in Asia Pacific and Japan to showcase their interactive networking capabilities, enhances classroom learning, gain essential and new IT skills through technology education and training.
