Students from all over the Philippines recently participated in the inaugural AMA Brains Olympiad National Finals, marking a significant milestone in academic competitions within the country. Here's an insightful look into the event that brought together young minds in a display of intellectual prowess and competitive spirit.


Setting the stage:

The journey began with 275 schools across the nation participating in the preliminary rounds of the AMA Brains Olympiad. From this vast pool of talent, only 11 schools managed to secure their positions in the highly anticipated National Finals. These schools represented a diverse range of regions and educational backgrounds, each bringing its own unique strengths to the competition.


As the National Finals commenced at the Luxent Hotel on February 29, 2024, participants geared up to showcase their knowledge and abilities. “Dare to dream big for yourselves. for your family and for the nation. Then you will become the heroes and leaders of the future generation. “These were the words from Dr. Amable R. Aguiluz V, the AMA Education System’s chairman, as read by Engr. Alvin Rodriguez, the Chief Operating Officer, addressed participants from the 11 schools who qualified.


After intense rounds of competition, five schools emerged as the top contenders for the Grand Championship. These schools, including Pambansang Mataas na Paaralang Marcelo H. Del Pilar, General Tiburcio De Leon National High School, Valenzuela City School of Mathematics and Science, Bicol University Integrated Laboratory School-High School Dept., and St. Joseph College-Olongapo, demonstrated exceptional skills and resilience throughout the tournament.


The thrilling finale:

The Championship Round witnessed a battle of wits like never before. With 30 challenging questions, the finalists pushed their limits to claim the coveted title. Ultimately, Pambansang Mataas na Paaralang Marcelo H. Del Pilar emerged victorious, showcasing unparalleled intellect and securing the prestigious Grand Championship.




The conclusion of the event was marked by an awe-inspiring award ceremony, where winners were celebrated for their outstanding achievements. Alongside cash prizes, the top schools also received tuition fee discounts, providing further encouragement for academic excellence.


The winners of the AMA Brains Olympiad not only showcased their academic prowess but also embodied the spirit of perseverance and dedication. Their accomplishments serve as a testament to the importance of fostering intellectual curiosity and embracing challenges.
