When faced with adversity, some people crumble, while others rise to the challenge. Princess Mae N. Donayre, a Filipino student from ABE International Business College, embodies the latter. Despite the pandemic disrupting her education, Princess persevered and made a life-changing decision to study abroad in Australia.
Throughout her journey, Princess Mae's unwavering determination and courage have been evident. As a young student, she sold food to classmates and later managed her own small sari-sari store to assist her family. She also ventured into online selling and grew as an entrepreneur. Her uplifting journey is a testament to the transformative impact of passion, tenacity, and the unyielding pursuit of one's dreams. Supported by her parents, Gemma and Joseph Donayre, Princess Mae has been able to overcome challenges and strive for success. Her decision to study abroad in Australia reflects her ambition to experience a new culture, gain a world-class education, and broaden her horizons. Princess Mae's story is an inspiring example of the importance of taking risks and pursuing one's dreams, even in the face of adversity.
Despite the difficulties posed by the pandemic, Princess Mae pursued her passion for business while trying to complete her BSBA program at ABE. Her thirst for knowledge and personal growth drove her to attend the AMA-KOI Convocation event, where her college and King's Own Institute (KOI) Australia hosted an information session about studying in Australia. This ignited her desire to study at KOI in Sydney, where she is now enrolled in a Bachelor of Business majoring in Management and Finance program. While she has only finished two years of her BSBA program at ABE, she continued it via the 2 + 2 pathway program at KOI. Her subjects from ABE are credited.
Princess Mae carefully weighed her options before deciding on Australia for its cost-efficiency, English-speaking environment, and internationally recognized education system. Sydney's vibrant, multicultural atmosphere captivated her, striking a balance between urban energy and opportunities for relaxation and exploration. Ultimately, she selected KOI for its commitment to graduate employability, outstanding student support, and curriculum aligned with her interests. As she embarks on a two-year program, Princess Mae eagerly anticipates studying Business Law, Logistics Management, and Finance Management, culminating in a business project during her final semester.
AMA Education System (AMAES) and King's Own Institute (KOI) recently formed a dynamic partnership that will provide students and alumni of AMAES with a clear pathway to study, work, and reside in Australia.
