AMA Education System and Alibaba Cloud sealed their official partnership with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement on July 18, 2023, at AMA University. The partnership representatives who signed the MOU were Dr. Lilibeth Taa, AMAES Chief Academic Officer, and Leo Liu, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence General Manager. Allen Guo, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence Country Manager, and Joanadiane Jardin, Head of Academic Operations, signed as witnesses. The MOU signing was also witnessed by Alibaba and AMAES officers.

The agreement focuses on AMAES's access to Alibaba Cloud learning resources to nurture future talents in Cloud Computing, Cloud security, and Big Data. The partnership includes student benefits like free Alibaba Cloud Academy Membership, free online training, a free Alibaba Cloud Certified Associate (ACA) certification exam, and an Elastic Compute Service (ESC) server for students. AMAES students also qualify for Alibaba’s Student Ambassador award.

Faculty benefits include a free educator server, free participation in Alibaba’s Train-the-Trainer Program, a free Alibaba Cloud Certified Professional (ACP) certification exam, and the use of free curriculum-based hands-on labs.

AMAES ensures that its students will participate in the courses and pass the certification exams that will contribute to their success, whether they choose to join the workforce or start their own businesses. The AMAES faculty looked forward to the start of the Train-the-Trainer program.

These Alibaba partner benefits are only available to accredited academic institutions that meet Alibaba’s participation criteria. AMAES is the first academic institution in the Philippines that Alibaba has signed an MOU with.

A partnership business meeting followed after the MoU signing, during which both parties discussed the bold strokes for moving the partnership forward, including the integration of Alibaba’s content into AMAES’s curriculum.
